Megami Saga: Resurrection Kickstarter story details
Over a thousand years ago a Japanese village was taken over and ruled by a demon with an iron fist. Things looked bleak when the strongest warriors and spiritualist failed to defeat the demon until a young woman who has the ability to have absolute control of water destroyed the demon and saved the village. The woman was Sakura a rare and powerful type of water Kitsune who has the ability to have absolute control of water. She eventually became the deity of the village and protected the village from evil. The villages created a shrine for Sakura called the Sakura Shrine and over the years the village eventually grew and prospered into a grand city.
The Tenshin family an ancient family who use their divine skills to purge evil declared Sakura to be evil and only once course of action which is to exterminate Sakura at any cost. The Tenshins, tried their best over the generations, and failed at every attempt, until they managed to get resources from an outside backer and ended Sakura’s life. The Tenshins decided to take Sakura’s remains to create a new powerful heir to their family. The end result created two children Reiko and Yui Tenshin, both gifted with Sakura’s powers and Tenshin DNA.
Now after many trials the Sakura Shrine has gained custody of the Tenshin girls and reclaimed their deity. For Yuki Megami this wasn’t enough. Yuki despised the idea of having Mitsuko raising the Tenshin girls at the shrine and hated them because she blamed them for taking Sakura from her. Yuki eventually gathered members from the shrine who hated Mitsuko and the Tenshin girls and began a coup to take over the shrine. Their mission is to capture Yui and Reiko and use them to revive Sakura.
