Kickstarter campaign for Mecha 1945 has just begun ! Mecha 1945 is a tactical combat game staging gigantic robots battling in Manhattan. The game has been spoted and selected by Kickstarter team (staff pick).
• This is a tactical game for 2 to 6 players, ages 12 and above.
• The goal is to destroy your opponents or to occupy certain places on the map to win the game.
• It has many variants and game modes, and you can play alone or in teams (you can even shoot in your ally’s back!).
The game :
• This is a turn-based game, with programmation and simultaneous resolution.
• This means that on every turn, you’ll have to choose cards which represents orders given to your mecha. Every player makes their choice secretly and then cards are revealed and their effects applied.
• You’ll have to choose a movement order, a technical card and a combat card. It’s up to you to predict your opponents choices and to shoot where they intend to go.
• When you’re hit, you lose cards which represents your abilities. This depict the damage done to your mecha.
• Manhattan’s skyscrapers are destructible and made of 2 cubes that can be knocked over to create obstacles.
• Some mechas can reach buildings rooftops and some have to bypass or destruct them.
• It’s up to you to decide how you’ll use the environment!
This is one of this project’s guiding lines : collaboration and customisation :
Collaboration because you’ll be able to bring the final artistic touch with me through your pledges, but also because this game is modular and allows you to create scenarios, variants or to modify robots’ 3D models. You’ll be able to work on it and make this game yours!
The customisation is done by assembling game’s cards and create your own robot (will it be fast ? technical ? or even saturated with weapons ?), and also through the use of the game’s website which will allow you to assemble 3D pieces to create the model of your choice and print it.
It’s a creator game, which mean I’ve done almost all on this project (even grammar mistakes…).
