LOS ANGELES, CA (November 7th, 2013) – Luevo, the first fashion-based crowdfunding platform of its kind, has launched with Los Angeles-based designer Bri Seeley. Luevo allows consumers to discover and pre-order high quality, limited edition fashions before they hit the stores. Designers manage each of their garments as individual campaigns, and the consumer isn’t charged unless the purchase minimum is met for the pledged item.
“Designers spend a lot of time, effort and money to put together a great collection; however, they aren’t necessarily able to guarantee sales following fashion weeks to cover the production costs for their collection,” says The CEO of Luevo, Ana Caracaleanu, “Luevo helps designers get closer to their audience and gives them the opportunity to gauge their success. Fashion consumers will now have the opportunity to pre-order their favorite items before these are produced, share their favorite items on social media and personally interact with fashion designers.”
Seeley’s Spring/Summer collection launched on Luevo following two successful runway events. “It became important for my customers to have access to the designs on a more immediate basis. Waiting for the garments to be available in retail stores was a barrier for them, so it made sense to partner with Luevo for their launch to allow my consumer more exclusive purchasing options.” The funds raised from the exclusive pre-sale of the garments are flagged to cover production and marketing costs in the United States. The successfully funded items will ship at the beginning of 2014, before the Spring fashion season even begins.
