love schmove is a unique dating site where people can setup their friends and family. Users can sign up or be signed up by others.
The best part about love schmove- which is that anyone can use it, whether you are single or in a relationship- is also what makes it a complex website to develop. Not only are we aiming to create a user friendly experience for our daters but we also have to make sure that our backers understand their role and how to get the most out of using our site. Their motivations for using the site are different than the daters they are supporting, therefore, they can get easily frustrated if they don’t understand how it works. So we have a unique and additional onus of not only ensuring that our daters are happy but we also have to make sure that their backers are happy as well.
The beta version of love schmove began matching users in May 2014. We were able to drive users to sign up but quickly realized that we are losing them in the sign up process because the layout is slightly confusing. Therefore, we had a lot of users signed up for the site but a much smaller percentage of users with active profiles.
This is a huge part of the UX (User eXperience) issues we are having and once addressed will help us to strengthen our user base by moving more people from sign up to activation.
The Reason We Need Your Support on Kickstarter is…
1. To take the site from beta to alpha

• we will add dating pools (where backers can bookmark users they like for their daters)
• we will add setups
• we will add additional features that will remain “top secret” until released
2. Improve the User Experience (UX)
Optimize the UX
• we will test it to see what is working and what needs revamping
• we will continue to collect feedback from users
• we will use analytics tools to gauge what needs further improvement
• we will keep working to identify the programming bugs that lead to error pages
3. To begin building a mobile app
To be competitive and attract more users, we must also begin building a mobile app. Having a mobile app is now standard for dating websites and many users will primarily utilize the app over the website.
In summary…
By building the alpha version of the site, improving the UX and creating a mobile app, we will then be able to generate mass appeal for our product. We will have a high caliber website that is competitive in the market, we will be better prepared for the demands associated with rapid growth, and lastly, we will deliver a quality product that continues to make our current users happy and appeals to and drives new users to our site.
