I’m an educator at heart, but my passion has always been food. I never dreamt that my hobby would one day become my full-time occupation, but it did.
For the last 21 years my husband and I owned and operated a bakery/catering company called La Cuisine in Jerusalem, Israel. We worked out of our 3 bedroom apartment while raising our 5 boys for 7 years, until we eventually opened our own bakery and two retail shops.La Cuisine has been one high-octane journey from day one. Like most food establishments ours has endured its fair share of peaks and valleys. More times than I care to remember I have found myself on the receiving end of that dreaded phone call from the bank: “So, Lori, when can we expect your next deposit?” and the only foreseeable work I have lined up is this Friday night’s family dinner. Yet, in spite of all the uncertainties, I can honestly say that I harbour few regrets for having taken the plunge. Marvin and I have shared a wealth of experiences that would have been impossible to duplicate in any conventional nine to five job.
We hope that our readers will enjoy the story of this improbable journey as much as they enjoy testing out the recipes.
Early review for Secrets From Lori Rapp’s Kitchen:
” I only wish every book I got to read was as lovely, fun, interesting, funny, on-brand, direct and delightful as this one. You have quite simply done a marvelous job, and take if from me, this is no easy task. You have managed to stay on topic, on brand, and write about how to love life while showing us how to love life, all the while giving us great insight into running our own shops. I adore this book… it will be delicious.”
