Southern California independent children’s book author, Karisa Lowe, has taken her popular children’s book series to Kickstarter. Lowe’s goal is to raise $15,000 in 30 days to switch her books from print-on-demand to mass printing. The money will cover printing costs for all three books, including the third and newest book which hasn’t been released yet, Arlo and the Farmers Market.
“With the Arlo series, I am striving to introduce kids to new experiences they may encounter,” says Lowe. “When you’re young, life is a big unknown. I created the Arlo series to help kids learn to embrace situations, instead of avoid them. Arlo will help kids and their parents prepare for these situations together, through these fun and practical books.”
Karisa Lowe received her B.S. from Pacific Union College in Journalism and Public Relations in 2008. She published her first children’s book, Arlo Goes to the Dentist, October 2011, which won Gold at the 2011 Independent Book Awards, Finalist in the 2012 USA Best Book Awards, Honorable Mention in the 2013 San Francisco Book Festival and was a Finalist in the 2013 International Book Awards.
Arlo and the Airplane (2012) was also named a Finalist in the 2013 International Book Awards and was a Winner in the 2013 Indie Excellence Awards.
Her third book in the series, Arlo Goes to the Farmer’s Market is expected to release in Winter 2013. Lowe’s books can be purchased at BarnesandNoble.com, Amazon.com, and Lulu.com. Visit karisalowe.com and arlotheelephant.com for more information.
