Now introducing the 5 tool fundamentals project on IndieGoGo! On any given day, on the tiny island of Little Corn, located off the coast of Nicaragua, you can find children playing the country’s most beloved sport of baseball. This third world island can only be reached by boat, which makes education and equipment difficult to obtain.
Collectively we have had numerous experiences traveling, living, and working third world. We have played on teams, worked in teams, taught children, and been involved in non-profit work. In our ventures we have consistently observed a lack of structure, education, and materials. Based on your level of generosity, we can reach a goal as simple as bringing basic baseball equipment and free clinics to the island, and as grand as building a field and establishing a structured Little League.
What We Need
We have re-set our funding goal to $30,000, which would enable us to ship and transport the following:
– balls
– bats
– gloves
– helmets
– and any other essential baseball equipment.
In addition, these funds would allow us to begin the process of constructing a field for Little League teams.
Furthermore, by meeting this stretch goal we could supply:
– team uniforms
– field maintenance and equipment (bases, chalk, shovels, rakes, etc.)
– add facilities such as: storage units, restrooms, concessions, and a scoreboard.
Depending on the level of support and funding we receive, 5 TOOL FUNDAMENTALS intends to expand to communities beyond Little Corn Island.
The Impact
We have come to the understanding that there are 5 fundamental tools to achieving success: simplicity, communication, preparation, efficiency, and execution. There are also 5 fundamental tools to the game of baseball; hitting for average, hitting for power, fielding, throwing, and agility/speed.
5TF intends to use the 5 tools of baseball to teach the 5 tools of success, basic life skills, and the importance of environmental awareness, sustainability, and self-confidence.
We hope that with your support and through the game of baseball we can positively effect the community for generations to come.
