These equality shirts are Slim Fit AMERICAN APPAREL 3/4 Sleeve Raglan Tees. They come in BLACK, NAVY BLUE, RED, and PURPLE/PINK.
I’m not going to lie, I would like to make money from this campaign. But that’s not my primary concern. I ultimately would like to do something positive for the communities that are facing real adversities on a daily basis. I am a Black American who believes, not in “gay rights”, but in CIVIL RIGHTS. Lets face it, there should be no distinction between groups for their rights. It’s ALL or NOTHING fellow humans. No one tries to tell me what Black rights I should have. CIVIL RIGHTS are for PEOPLE. Your Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Ethnicity, Nationality, etc. are all irrelevant. Please help me spread this message, not just in Los Angeles(where I am based), but across the country.
The more successful this campaign is, the higher the profit margin. And the higher the profit margin, the more money I’ll be able to donate to the American Civil Liberties Union(ACLU) and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People(NAACP). If this thing goes into the thousands, then I will be extremely happy to add more charities to the list. So that we may touch many more peoples and communities. This includes but is not limited to groups that stand for/help Hispanics, Gender Equality, Immigrants, Homeless, etc. For the time being, I would like to limit the amount of charities, only to ensure that the amount of the donations is an amount that can make a difference. 30% of profits will go straight to charity.
Equality is a very important issue around the world. And I feel Americans should be able to pride themselves as one of the world’s leaders in social equality. But we’ve fallen behind and it’s time to catch up. Due to a perpetual state of living paycheck to paycheck I’ve never be able to give much. The socioeconomic divide is no joke. But I do believe that an idea and a kind gesture can make real change happen.
If you’re curious… The goal of $3,750 was set after I crunched all the numbers to figure out how much we need to raise to make/sell 100 equality shirts. And unless we can produce an absolute minimum of 100 equality shirts, I don’t feel like this is worth doing because it certainly wont have the impact on society that I intend it to. Please SHARE this campaign and product with as many hashtags as you can possibly think of. Get the word out on the #EQUALITYSHIRT. Awareness is important!
For you fashionistas out there, there isn’t going to be a second wave of these shirts. This is a one time deal. I may create variations or similar messages in the future. But I will not dig up this exact design for a second run. So believe me, these will be very LIMITED EDITION shirts. And you will not be able to get them anywhere else after this campaign. So if you support the message and believe in the cause, plus like the shirt… It’s seriously now or never.
