If you’re interested in developing iOS Applications in Objective-C but have always been a little lost with the mass of disorganised information out there. Look no further. are currently crowd funding on Kickstarter and hope to create a structured, easy to follow online video development tutorial.

Check out this project and support on: Kickstarter

Here is the information taken directly form the Kickstarter page itself:

What I want to build

I want to create an online LMS (Learning Management System) for people who want to learn to develop applications for the iPhone and iPad. This will consist of different sections that are aimed at teaching the budding iOS Developer how to create applications without any prior knowledge.

Each section will consist of detailed video tutorial modules. They will be able to mark each one as complete until they finish the section. At the end of each section I would also like to develop an online quiz were the learner can type code directly into the browser and is able to recap and thus better retain the information taught in the course.

Why am I building this?

Three years ago I started iOS-Blog  ( bit.ly/1hnkkRz ) with the hope of helping the iPhone application development community. At the time I was bewildered by Objective-C, desperately wanting to learn but finding it hard to find informative, concise and valid information to learn from. Now the blog has reached around 100k pageviews per month and continues to grow and help budding and professional iOS Developers.

Now, its time for a challenge, the next step! I want to create a follow along, learn by doing course that will take anyone without prior knowledge of iPhone application programming and the native language of Objective-C and guide them through to developing their own applications.

A few other developers, who have agreed to take part if this project reaches the required goal will help contribute their knowledge and time. This will bring around 12years of experience and advice to the course.

Where will the Kickstarter money go?

The funding will go on developing the LMS and paying for extra developers to contribute and really strengthen this course.

The more kickstarter funding that is acquired will go towards things like:

The educational materials.
The graphic design & branding.
The front-end development.
Film production.
Refining the course based on feedback.
Development of an iOS application to take this course onto the portable platforms.
Further developers to help add and strengthen the course.

Do I need to know any programming for this course?

You’ll need to have a basic knowledge of programming which is taught in the basic section. If you have any other questions about how I will be using the Kickstarter money, or about what goes into building an iOS Development course, please don’t hesitate to ask below.

Please share this course across your social media outlets and help others benefit from this great resource.
