Monties combines the resilience and charm of wood with the versatility of fabric to create something sophisticated when tailored together, a contemporary adaptation of the classic bow tie. Currently there are 10 styles of Monties available and three limited edition Purple Heart Monties specifically designed for our Kickstarter supporters. All our Monties are unique to their name and guaranteed to make an elegant addition to your wardrobe.
The journey of each Montie begins by hand selecting the finest fabrics. After narrowing down thousands of options we were able to develop a collection of just over a dozen that fit our standards and style.
We then search for the highest quality and most uniquely grained woods. The wood is precisely cut by a local studio to the shape of our designs to insure precision and efficiency. Once cut it is sanded by hand to create a smooth surface and beveled edge adding to the depth of the final product. We appreciate the beauty and warmth of natural wood so our ties are treated with linseed oil to emphasize the color and grain.
Each fabric is hand cut and wrapped around the piece in the shape of a knot, adding to the final touch to each Montie, perfectly complementing the wood.
Our ties are created from the idea that it would better your wardrobe and promote individuality. It doesn’t matter who you are, a Montie is sure to fit your style.
Monties products are American made, designed and assembled by hand in Chicago, Illinois. We are also dedicated to the environment by only using wood from sustainably harvested sources.
