Scottsdale, AZ — November 22, 2015 | An innovative designer in Arizona has launched an Indiegogo campaign to support the release of Tatter Patch, a product that uses heat release technology to create and restore the appearance of distressed denim. The iron-on patch mimics the distressed look of high-end designer jeans. The campaign, which started only 11 days ago, has already raised $2,050 with the support of 53 backers, and has 30 days left to reach the $4,800 campaign goal.

Frustrated by the costly expense of replacing expensive denim ruined by rips and tears, Jennifer Fagan developed a method of transforming unsightly holes into vintage distressed elements in under 5 minutes. Tatter Patch is the first-ever iron-on designer threaded patch that allows users to extend the life of their favorite jeans or create fun designer looks in thrift store jeans.

Taking to Indiegogo to raise funds for a machine that will allow mass production of the patches, Fagan’s campaign appeals to sympathetic readers who share the heartbreak over what she terms, “a beloved graveyard of booty fabulous jeans and jean skirts.”

The average price for premium jeans is nearly $200, reports Fagan, who explains that the Tatter Patch eliminates the need to toss damaged denim in the trash, saving both money and the environment at the same time. “Holes happen, but Tatter Patches are an inexpensive and fun way to restore or restyle your favorite jeans in just a few minutes.”

Indiegogo backers can receive a 2-Pack of 4” x 6” patches with a $15 contribution, while the product will retail for $18 when Tatter Patch becomes available to the public. The campaign also offers perks that range from a social media ‘shout out’ and access to exclusive offers for $5, to 6 jumbo patches and a tote for $150.
