MELBOURNE, Australia – June 30, 2014 – The next generation of peer-to-peer messaging is finally available with the crowdfunding launch of InTouch Messaging. The advanced messaging platform addresses many of the privacy and security concerns of users of other products while adding new functionality that leverages cutting-edge technology.
“We learned from users of other popular smartphone messaging apps that privacy and security were missing from the currently available technology,” said Ganesh Krishnan, developer of the InTouch Messaging app. “We wanted to make sure that technology was the core of the next generation platform we were developing.”
Peer-to-peer messaging was built on the technology used for instant messaging, but delivered on an iOS or Android smartphone platform. The technology connects people with instant chat and file transfer functionality while bypassing the phone’s SMS texting service. One of the most popular applications of this functionality was just acquired by the largest social media network in the world for $19 billion.
The InTouch Messaging app provides users a new level of privacy and security not found in any other smartphone messaging app. Unlike the competition, InTouch allows users to add contacts without revealing a phone number. It also does not store information exchanged between users on a central server. The messages are only stored on the phones of the sender and the receiver.
“In these days of heightened privacy and security, it is important to ensure that users are protected while using mobile messaging technology,” Krishnan said. “It was a community of travelers that developed the technology for use while out on the road.”
InTouch Messaging also added some extra functionality to the app that enables users to easily create and maintain contacts.
“We added group video conferencing, a way to simply shake the phone to add contacts and integration with the newest platforms of wearable technology such as smart watches,” Krishnan said. “InTouch is really the smartphone messaging app for the next generation.”
A Kickstarter project with some great rewards is now underway to deliver the technology commercially. Backers have the opportunity to receive a custom InTouch smartphone or smartwatch plus other cool stuff. To see the crowdfunding campaign, please visit www.kickstarter.com
“We look forward to getting support from smartphone messaging users from all over the world that want a better, safer and cooler way to communicate using peer-to-peer technology,” said Krishnan. “With your help we can provide a better platform for all.”
