May 13, 2015, Toronto, Canada – The Internet of Things startup is launching a Kickstarter campaign on May 13 for a smart home system that doesn’t require costly remodeling and complicated managing.
IglooControl offers the users complete control and flexibility by allowing them to manage temperature in every room of their house separately, with existing furnace, air conditioner and vents. No need for expensive changes, messy remodeling and frustrating setup.
The system includes wireless dampers, wireless temperature sensors and a control box. A user can easily install the dampers into heating/cooling vents and place the sensors, using a 3M double-side tape, in every zone they want to control.
The sensors monitor temperature and send the information every few minutes to the control box, which is managing furnace, air conditioner and the wireless dampers. The dampers close air flow into the rooms with desirable temperature while allowing hot or cold air to be directed to the zones requiring the adjustment. The users set up, automate and change the settings for every room of the house remotely, through their Apple or Android mobile devices. IglooControl is also compatible with Nest smart thermostat.
An average US household spends $107.3 per month on an electricity bill. Heating and cooling accounts for a half of the cost. By creating separate zones and automating climate control process, homeowners can save up to 25% of the money, while enjoying intelligent features of luxury houses.
“We wanted to create a device to make people’s lives more comfortable and to save the environment. Ordering IglooControl is a smart investment that will save you money every day while optimizing climate in the house based on lifestyle and habits of every family member.” Said Yuliy Ruzin, the founder of IglooControl.
In a recent report on the connected home, BI Intelligence forecasted that the industry will grow at a compound annual rate of 67% over the next five years. Home energy and security systems are expected to lead the consumer adoption, and in five years, almost 70% of the homes in the US will have smart thermostats installed.
IglooControl is proud to be among the pioneers of the Internet of Things industry. The company is launching a campaign on Kickstarter to raise the $50,000 necessary to bring the product to market. The backers on the crowdfunding website have an opportunity to pre-order the system, starting at $239, saving approximately 20% off the future retail price. The product will be available this Fall.
