HUB, by ekko Audio, is pleased to announce that its $100,000 Kickstarter campaign has been fully funded – just days after launching. It’s currently one of Kickstarter’s most popular technology products, with 54 days remaining.
“We’re thrilled at the awesome response we’ve gotten from the Kickstarter community,” said Sean Murray, co-founder of HUB. “We’ve really just gotten started. There are a lot of exciting updates planned for the coming weeks, and we couldn’t be more grateful that HUB has debuted to such a positive reaction from the crowdfunding community.”

HUB is the world’s first high-fidelity, Wi-Fi audio hub for headphones and speakers. The innovative system allows up to 10 users to simultaneously listen to the same audio stream by connecting and headphones or earbuds to multiple rechargeable wireless receivers called “sound pucks.” HUB allows users to share 96 kHz / 24-bit audio (double that of CD quality), with each user able to independently control volume and equalizer settings to suit their individual listening preference. HUB can even be used to instantly connect multiple speakers or stereo systems without the hassle of running wires.

HUB debuted on Kickstarter on March 23rd and quickly attracted the attention and support of backers eager to sign up for early adopter deals. The campaign was promptly categorized under “Projects We Love” by Kickstarter staff, and has received glowing editorial reviews from websites such as The Verge, TechHive, Gizmag, Slashgear, Digital Trends, Yahoo!, and others.

While some early bird reward tiers have already sold out, a number of deals remain at up to $70 off HUB’s expected retail price. These are not expected to last long as demand for HUB continues to grow.

Each HUB comes with four Wi-Fi-enabled sound pucks, which rest upon a slick looking transmitter / charging base. With a range of up to 100 feet and battery life of 4.5+ hours, HUB allows users to listen to TV shows or stream movies without the need for an existing Wi-Fi network– HUB creates its own Wi-Fi network and can stream audio directly to the sound pucks, with no extra equipment to buy or install, making it easy to wirelessly connect the entire house. The system is a perfect fit for audiophiles, movie lovers, families and large groups alike.

Music enthusiasts will enjoy the convenience of wireless, hi-res audio without compromising quality. Kids can plug in and play their video games without disturbing adults who may be working or reading in the same room. It’s also great for parents who want to watch TV without waking a sleeping baby, for older adults who need a little extra volume, or even for conference calls or jam sessions with the band. While primarily designed for audio-visual applications such as television viewing, HUB by ekko is fully compatible with mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, as well as PC/Mac.

HUB by ekko is live on Kickstarter through May 22nd. For more information, visit the live campaign now: www.kickstarter.com
