August 12, Hogger Logger LLC, a New Jersey based game design company, announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for their self-titled card game, Hogger Logger. In just one day, the team has managed to raise over $1,500 to fuel the initial print run of the game.

Hogger Logger is a fast-paced and easy to learn guessing game involving number cards, action cards, and lumberjacking pigs. The game is designed for 2-5 players and each game takes no more than 15-20 minutes to play.

Shawn Duenas, Ryan Shapiro, and Charles Winkler, the creators of Hogger Logger, designed the game with a mission to create a fun, fast game that can be easily learned in under 5 minutes by gamers across all skill levels.

“Hogger Logger is one of those games that you can show to any of your friends and within minutes, be laughing at each other’s misfortunes as you try to guess higher or lower.”
-Ryan Shapiro, co-developer

The premise of Hogger Logger is simple: as the “guesser, ” you must guess whether the next number card is higher or lower while using the cards in your hand to either help yourself or hurt your opponents. But watch out! Your opponents can also play cards and steal cards to change your odds. Be the player to correctly guess the last card and you win.

Having been featured at gaming conventions across the country, as well as on various gaming blogs and videos, Hogger Logger has been receiving a very positive response.

“A new classic game is born. I am fully expecting this game to be found on the same shelf as Fluxx, Uno, Apples to Apples, and Magic the Gathering. Yes, it’s that good.”
-Tom T, game designer

The Kickstarter campaign runs until September 14. During that time, backers can own a copy of Hogger Logger, and for those that enjoy exclusive perks, there is the opportunity to own the limited edition Action deck expansion as well as other tantalizing options.
