Did you know that only 5.6% of women run their own business? In the UK, hardly any start-up funding goes to businesses led by women. They have created a programme to help get ideas off the ground and close the gender gap in business once and for all. The programme is called Back Her Business and NatWest want this to be the UK’s most exciting and accessible business start-up programme for women EVER.
At NatWest, their aim is to help narrow the UK business gender gap. Back Her Business is designed to support the set-up of new female-led businesses (whether for profit or not for profit) in the UK by enabling women to test their business ideas (projects). NatWest is enabling women to access donations or rewards-based funding through Crowdfunder’s platform, as well as providing the opportunity for women to benefit from wrap around support often needed to successfully start up in business e.g. coaching, networks, events and other start-up initiatives.
Without funding, an idea is just that. I’m proud to be participating in the campaign to showcase my idea and give my business a chance to grow. Life will never provide warranties and guarantees. It can only provide possibilities and opportunities, it’s up to us to convert them into success. I love baking and I’m lucky enough that I’ve found my passion. I look the plunge and followed my heart with a business mind in view which has led me to form Herts Barkery. When you find something that you are passionate about and enjoy then I believe you should put your all into it if you want to success. Even if there are hiccups along the way, they help make you stronger. I am to put everything I have and more into making this business success so that I can progress and turn my dream into a sustainable reality. www.natwestbackherbusiness.co.uk
