The Heroes Are Coming! Fantasy Adventure Board Game Heroes of Ismia is on Kickstarter Today!
Fight monsters, gather materials and go on quests to gain power in Heroes of Ismia, a new customizable resource management RPG board game by Click Play Die Games on Kickstarter today. In this role-playing board game for 2-4 players, each player takes on the role of a Hero, vying to be the first to save the city of Ismia from destruction. Heroes of Ismia is unique in that it is both a resource management game, in which players must carefully watch how many materials they have and make strategic decisions on how to deploy them – and also a classic role-playing game where players take on races and classes and complete small tasks, or quests, to gain power.
Integral to Heroes of Ismia is it’s high replay-ability. There are four classes to choose from as well as four different races. In addition, each class has a deck of power cards specific to their abilities, of which you choose four in any one game. These power cards, as well as the different classes and races, give you countless character options that ensure you will play an entirely different character every game.
Click Play Die Games is headed by Reed A. Raymond and is based in San Francisco. Reed has been working on Heroes of Ismia for the last three years, designing, developing and play testing with a wide array of friends, family, gaming professionals, tech writers and geek-celebrities. The final product is an exciting mash up of classic RPG elements interspersed with fresh and unique game mechanics. Internet entrepreneur and web show host Kevin Rose described Heroes of Ismia as “frickin’ awesome. It’s good. It’s really good,” on The Random Show with Tim Ferriss. Perhaps more importantly, those brand new to the genre have not only picked up the involved game play quickly, but have found the game to be exciting and immersive.
