Hello world! Villages in the most isolated parts of the country have barely had access to electricity while being one of the hottest places for solar energy. This initiative is to embark on a DIY (Do It Yourself) project that enables us to build reliable 2kW solar panel systems in 100 (hundred) sets with each being shared by a maximum of three small homes in these villages. We Strongly believe this will have great impact on lives in these rural communities.
CHALLENGE
We have successfully acquired some necessary resources & KITs (Materials) or the project which includes electrical & wiring materials (partly recycled e-waste), 120 prefabricated Aluminium panel frames & mounting systems (Donated), PV-battery banks & solar controllers (Donated/Partly recycled e-waste) with a couple of components donated in bulk by charitable groups & individuals and also, members of our team have acquired a considerable level of training for the project.
Our remaining and most important challenge is to acquire at least 200,000 affordable (bulk) solar cells which happen to cost $0.24 per watt – Reference – Provider – www.alibaba.com
Join us make great impact!
One solution to climate change is to harvest the power of sunlight where it shines brightest on the planet and this also presents a great opportunity to electrify the most isolated parts of the world. Solar energy can free Rural Africa from the “Poverty Trap”.
