My name is Sachelle. I have a son who’s 15 and husband 43 and we could really do with your help.
In 2005 my husband was diagnosed with post-natal depression which got worse and became manic depression with psychosis.
On top of this he was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2009.
He cannot drive his beloved motorbike any more, he cannot go out alone any more.
When our son was 4, I was in the kitchen when I heard him shouting daddy stop dancing, daddy stop dancing. I went into our living room to find Chris having a seizure.
Ambulance called trying to keep a 4 year old calm and also look after Chris wasn’t easy. The ambulance came and after I’d managed to calm Chris down as he became aggressive afterwards. They took him to hospital, we lived in a second floor flat with 2 flights of concrete stairs.
One paramedic commented that if Chris had a seizure on those stairs he’d do some serious damage to his head.
This scared me to the point If he was taking the bin out I’d go with him to make sure if he did have a seizure I’d somehow be able to cushion him.
Life really hasn’t been easy as you can imagine.
This has meant that our son has never had a day with his dad without me being in the same room or house as I’m his full-time career.
My son came up with the idea to try raise enough money to install a garden room. Where they can spend time painting war hammer miniatures and playing tabletop battles.
His target is 16200, we have very kindly been offered a discount on this should we hit target.
