I am a 26 year old father of a beautiful 3 and a half year old baby boy. For the past 4 years, I have had unexplained medical problems that numerous doctors cannot figure out. I have had extensive testng, medication trials, countless number of hospital visits, and I am still left with no answers. As soon as doctors find something, another illness pops up. I had a pre-cancerous tumor removed, and while this was a HUGE side of relief, more and more medical problems started to arise.
Due to all of the above, I have accrued over $20,000 worth of Credit Card and Medical Bill debt.
Because of the extensive testing, hospital visits, doctors appointments, surgeries, etc… I was forced to take an extended leave of absence from work. This ultimatly exhausted all of the leave I had accrued from work, so I was forced to take leave without pay, which took an extreme toll on myself and trying to pay bills (I almost lost my house, my car, and a bunch of other things that I was forced to sell to try to keep up with my bills).
I am at the point where I am not sure what to do to get back on my feet.
The only person I have in my life is my beautiful son, and I am trying to get myself back on track financially to be able to give him the best life possible.
The reason for my GoFundMe page, is to:
1. Pay outstanding medical bills and the extensive amount of credit card debt I have accrued due to this illness.
2. Get into see a specialist (which is not covered by insurance) to try to do more extensive testing.
Basically, on a good day, I am able to walk around, do some chores, but this is not how I want to live the rest of my life. I want to be able to spend time with my son, take him out to play, and be a normal father.
