Quikbild International is inviting crowdfunders to contribute to its blueprint venture in Africa and have a chance of doubling their money.
Looking to raise a minimum of £20,000 (cUS$27,000) on www.crowdfunder.co.uk, Quikbild is offering those making a donation the opportunity to receive a 100% return within 3 months when the project is deemed successful.
The pilot scheme is taking place within a central African country with the full backing of the government and could see the building of a factory to manufacture a revolutionary construction material capable of producing up to 15,000 social homes a year.
The country in question has a current housing deficit of 4 million units.
The Quikbild product uses very little, if any, traditional building materials such as cement, bricks, blocks, timber, steel, sand and water and although lightweight is as strong as concrete capable of constructing residential, commercial, industrial and high-rise properties.
The off-site system is resistant to earthquakes, fire, water, cyclones, termite infestation and rot but its main characteristics are that by saving on raw materials, transport, time and cost, properties are at least 30% cheaper
than conventionally-constructed dwellings and can be built in a matter of just days !
Regarded as “the most advanced building system in the world today”, the Quikbild system is environmentally positive, is 100% recyclable and has been approved by the World Bank as eligible for carbon credits.
The product possesses excellent sound attenuating characteristics, thermal insulation properties and enjoys 10% space saving. Its raw material is one of the most available and low-carbon minerals on earth in plentiful supply but the product can also be made from waste by-products.
The Quikbild company plans to roll-out its system across the African continent where it is already receiving considerable interest.
