Dateline, Bentonville:
Heroes, they grace the advertisements of their corporate sponsors and patrol the streets in cutting edge exo-suits. They are the ideal, beautiful, powerful and elite.
But, last night a street mugging was stopped by a man in a costume. This masked man, heavy set with a clenched fist emblazoned on his chest wore no visible exo-suit and disappeared into the night before authorities arrived.
Witnesses are calling this masked vigilante, “Heavy Hand”, but no corporation has registered a new hero of that name or description. Could this big-boned brawler be an unlicensed hero or a masked criminal? Captain Sci, hero in residence at SciCorp, was quoted as saying, “I am sure the big guy has rescued more than his share of cupcakes, that’s for sure.”
With so little known about Heavy Hand, only time will tell if he is good for more than a few jokes.
The idea for Heavy Hand cam to me about a year ago when the first scene jumped out at me fully formed. It is a story about someone deciding to make a difference despite society’s expectations. The Kickstarter campaign for issue No. 1 will allow for this new story to get a great start. Please go to www.kickstarter.com!
