Boston, MA – We are excited and proud to announce the first wearable product in our portfolio, GoGlove. GoGlove is a unique, wearable wireless remote for accessing your mobile device while on the go. The glove itself is a thin liner made of high quality fabric with seamlessly integrated electronics and magnetic sensors. With our patent pending AirTap technology, the glove works even if you wear your outer gloves overtop, without using buttons or conductive materials.
The core of GoGlove is the control module, which is built on Bluetooth LE 4.0 technology for small form factor and outstanding battery life. The control module can be paired with your Android 4.3+ or iOS 7+ device. Once paired, you can control your music like never before, just by tapping your fingers together. You can play, pause, or skip tracks, control volume, or activate Siri all without touching your phone. It will work with native apps, such as iTunes and Google Play. It will also work with third party apps like Pandora and Spotify.
“GoGlove was born out of our simple frustration of trying to listen to music while skiing and boarding” says Ben Harris, co-founder of GoGlove. “We loved listening to music on the mountain, but it was impossible to control your device. So we developed a way to control your music while leaving your phone securely in your pocket”.
GoGlove’s control module is designed to be used with the glove and with other wearables. Currently, the team is finalizing the design of a wristband that can be worn in warmer weather, but uses the same module. “Because the module can be interchanged between wearables, GoGlove becomes an all year-round device. Perfect for skiing in the winter with a glove or running in the summer with a wristband” says co-founder Eric Ely.
The GoGlove team is launching a Kickstarter campaign on July 4th to raise initial funds and kick off production. “Our goal is to deliver GoGlove to our early bird backers by Christmas 2014, the perfect gift for the holidays” says Harris. “People who sign up now will get a huge discount and get to use the very first product.”
