Burbank, CA — Madeleine Holly-Rosing, writer/creator of the comic Boston Metaphysical Society announced the launch of her campaign to fund the printing of Boston Metaphysical Society: The Spirit of Rebellion (A Caitlin O’Sullivan Story). It is the second standalone story that continues the original six issue mini-series. The story will be 34 pages in a 44 page perfect bound book. “The story was inspired by a conversation I had with a fan. It made me realize that the battle with The Shifter would have a lasting effect on Caitlin. No one survives a battle like that unscathed.”

With art and colors by Gwynn Tavares and lettering by Troy Peteri, the story focuses on how a now homeless Caitlin is taken in by friends of Samuel’s in Philadelphia. While there, she and Samuel find themselves in the middle of a protest movement against the Great Houses by the local workers. To make matters more complicated, Caitlin discovers that the ghost who lives in the boarding house may have an influence far beyond the grave.

With an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA, Ms. Holly-Rosing brought her background of TV and feature film writing to the world of comics along with a love of history and science fiction. The comic began online five years ago and went to print with a special 24 page edition a year later. The original series received an Honorable Mention at the 2013 Geekie Awards and was nominated for Best Comic/Graphic Novel in 2014. It has also been consistently nominated for best webcomic by the Steampunk Chronicles Readers’ Choice Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The complete series is now available in a trade paperback along with the last standalone story, The Scourge of the Mechanical Men.

Ms. Holly-Rosing is a veteran of Kickstarter having successfully funded the last five campaigns for this project and surpassed her last funding goal of $3,800 to print The Scourge of the Mechanical Men by over 300%. “I love Kickstarter. It has enabled myself and many other creators to achieve their goals.

The Kickstarter will end on February 22 and is looking for a funding goal of $3,825. For more information, please visit the Kickstarter Homepage or www.bostonmetaphysicalsociety.com
