A crowdfunding campaign has been started in an effort to transform a new Croatian music blog, Sound Report, into a website dedicated to the promotion of new rock and urban music bands and artists.

As a student project launched at the beginning of the year, Sound Report has turned from a hobby into a full-time job. The blog has been followed by an increasing number of readers, thanks to which its attendance has been doubling from month to month. In only 5 months, the blog’s two founders have expanded their team to include 10 student colleagues who have so far attended about a hundred concerts, following the work of over 150 new, high-quality and still unestablished bands.

The crowdfunding campaign set up on Indiegogo has been initiated with the aim to raise funds for creating a website which would serve as an effective multimedia platform for the promotion of new underground and rock musicians on the Croatian and international music scene, who, in spite of their great number and high quality, are unable to get substantial mainstream media coverage, as opposed to, for example, turbo-folk and other types of trash music. Sound Report still operates at free WordPress, which is not suitable enough for all the content that the team plans to include in the platform. Also, a website is just the first step in creating a web of support of new music acts.

The most interesting perk for the donors in the crowdfunding campaign is a unique CD compilation with the songs of some of the best Croatian emerging artists such as Jonathan, Sage, Luka Belani, Dino Jelusic, Elephant And The Moon and others. These artists represent only a fraction of truly great Croatian bands who are being ignored by the mainstream media, and Sound Report wishes to rectify this injustice.

You can show your support for good music, the emerging Croatian music scene and the platform for their promotion by donating at Indiegogo.
