Have a typographic minimal movie poster for one of Stanley Kubrick’s greatest films gracing your walls.
UK based graphic designer Livia Lucie – who runs small design studio three29design – is aiming to get her Full Metal Jacket minimal movie poster made into a limited number of A3, two colour screen prints with the help of some movie and design buff backers.
The original design, 7.62mm Full Metal Jacket Minimal Movie Poster – which is based on the Rifleman’s Creed – was created back in 2011. It hit popularity on the web, with design and movie fans alike thanks to Tumblr.com and Forrst.com. The design was later picked up by The Picmix store, which sold digital prints and also La Cinémathèque, which held a Stanley Kubrick Exhibition later in 2011.
After receiving several requests for a print, Livia has decided to give crowdfunding a go in order to help fund her first set of screen-prints. Screen printing can be rather expensive to set up, even more so when you aren’t too sure how many people are prepared to part with their hard earned cash in return for something awesome to hang on their walls.
Livia Lucie says… “I have been meaning to create screen prints of this popular piece for a long time now but work or life in general always got in the way. I’m so happy that I’m FINALLY pushing this! I really hope this project is successful and I can have my first set of screen prints hanging on people’s walls by early February 2014. There are many more designs I’d love to create limited prints of, and this first project will give me that push to keep making more.”
The Kickstarter project will run until January 15th and pledges start at £1 and from £19 to get your hands on a Full Metal Jacket Screen Print. Please visit the page here for more information.
