Singapore | September 29, 2020 — Video gaming enthusiasts and successful entrepreneurs Caine Teo (CEO) and James Sim (CPO) are launching a Kickstarter campaign on 29 September 2020, 8pm SGT to raise a target of USD$27,000. Funds raised will be used to build GANK, the app designed to consolidate a previously fragmented market of two emerging industries: the Gaming and the Gig economy, and will now enable all levels of gamers to monetize their game time.
GANK started off with an angel round of investment of USD$650,000 and recently received a USD$150,000 funding support from Singapore government agency ESG (Enterprise Singapore) to begin its runway with. Funds raised through the Kickstarter campaign will provide social proof and validation from the gaming community.
GANK is a digital marketplace that allows gamers to earn while sharing their video gaming skills with others who need professional help in gaming. Verified gamers can list services such as coaching, in-game support and companion gaming on the platform.
The marketplace also enables organizations and professionals of the gaming industry to offer industry work opportunities for individuals who want to be part of Esports and tournament organizations.
GANK was conceived with a mission to create a gamer gig economy geared towards benefitting the underserved gamers and set out to be an all inclusive platform for the gaming community at large, which consists of behind-the-scenes professionals who form the backbone of the video gaming industry
