A new activity tracking app, called Game of Quests is available on Google Play. It’s a gamified app which tracks your activity. But it’s not only about fitness this time.

Play and progress

Harmfulness of games is often a subject of a discussion nowadays (whether we agree with it or not, this is the usual stereotype). It is often said that games are time-wasters and are the source of aggresive behaviour. That’s why this new project is so interesting. It’s not a game that you point and click. It’s a game where your real life actions are the key part of it.

Game of Quests is a gamified app where your real life actions have an impact on developing your virtual character.

A first GOQ universe is a world of dwarfes, humans, elfves and other mystery beings.

There was a beta app published where you could create your avatar (elves, dwarfs, and humans available).

Development of your avatar looks a little bit different than you know from classical RPGs.

You don’t have to choose your avatar class at the beginning, but simply develop all 3 classes independently, depending on which quests that you are completing.

Each class corresponds to a specific area of activity.

FITNESS – WARRIOR

Boosting up your strenght, speed and stamina when working out, you develop as a warrior. There are over 50 running quests prepared in beta app.

CULTURE – MAGE

As a mage you develop your avatar when you’re improving your culture activities. Check in at the cinema, library, and museum are now available.

ECOLOGY – DRUID

If you’re improving your ecological behavior, you level up as a druid. There are many cycling quests waiting for you in GOQ beta app. Just grab your bike instead of a car and start developing your druid.

Indiegogo campaign

Game of Quests makers want to collect 21,000 dollars. It seems like a fair amount regarding of what they promise to implement when they will succeed (the most important goal being a passionate story where users real life actions will be a key part of it). There are also interesting perks if you’ll decide to donate (like in-game weapons and clothes designed specially for donators, shirts, mugs or keychains).

Beta app available

Together with Indiegogo campaign, GOQ team launched their Android app. It’s available in Google Play. There are iOS and Windows Phone apps set up as campaing goals.

All already prepared quests are GPS and localization based. It makes them easy to verify and measure.

At Game of Quests you gain experience when you’ll finish your every quest. There are also so-called Milestones, a virtual currency which you can spend on various weapons, staffs, armors, and robes.

It’s a good thing, that all your cycling or running sessions are exported to a .gpx files, so you don’t have to choose between your favourite activity tracking app and Game of Quests (you just simply import your training session to your app).

Be a part of a GOQ world.

You could complete GOQ’s team most important quests, which is a success at their campaign. Just back up, or share their indiegogo link: www.indiegogo.com
