Victorville, CA — June 23, 2018 – America is more divided than ever. Families no longer visiting for Christmas. Lifelong friendships destroyed over Facebook arguments. Rising tensions as both sides become more tribalistic and moving further to the deepest ends of the spectrum.

Now, more than ever, Americans are taking themselves more seriously and one animator thinks it’s time for everyone to take themselves down a peg.

Nicholas Collins is an animator from San Bernardino, California who has seen this ever growing divide in American politics. “People aren’t talking to each other anymore, they just know their talking points and speak their talking points.”

An artist for seven years in Los Angeles and now an animation teacher Nick wrote the pilot to Game Night with his wife, Marcella, when they lost life-long friends during the contentious 2016 Presidential Election.

“The major issue is that morality and policy have become one and the same,” he laments. This inspired him to create a show that lampoons America’s social issues taking on issues from incels and sex robots to the human condition.

“A big part of this show is that I want people to realize why they believe what they believe and how they came to the point in which they joined the side that they’re on.” His belief is that when people realize that their political leanings aren’t the results of their own virtues people may be willing to consider the perspectives of others and why someone would believe differently.

GAME NIGHT

When five strangers with polarizing political views meet at a Game Night event gone awry they decide to have their own Game Nights and see if friendship can overcome politics.

Leo, a grumpy conservative, Prudy, an A-type businesswomen, Jamie, an ally to all, Marie, a disillusioned lover, and Lexi, a 30-year old recluse who still lives with her parents are the heroes of this story. Together, they will brave the waters of social and political discord to discover if friendship can withstand politics or if the divide is too wide.
