Victorville, CA — This month, Nocturnus Studios launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the pilot episode of Game Night, an animated adult comedy about five strangers with extreme political views learning to become friends.

“Politics should not be so important that we lose friends and families over it,” said creator, Nicholas Collins, “The fact that it is should say less about them and more about our government.”

Game Night is a half-hour animated adult comedy with classic era Simpsons humor add a steaming fusion of internet culture. The show follows five strangers: Leo, Prudy, Jamie, Marie and Lexi. Together, they navigate the treacherous seas of friendship in a post-civility America where opinions on policy keep people who might otherwise get along feeling divided and defensive.

Along the way, our friends deal with various touchy subjects from a mad kid’s-show-scientist, Mecha Christianity vs Mecha Mecca, toxic masculinity and his girlfriend feminism, to otherkin, and, yes– literal Nazis.

In each episode, the five friends gather at a Game Night where these issues fester. Some episodes deal with our friends working together to beat a game, some explore the characters’ lives deeper as we see how they got to their political beliefs and some see them go on insane adventures as they discover what it is they truly believe.

Game Night is not only the comedy that America deserves but also the one it needs.

“This comedy is based on the fact that there’s nothing wrong with being friends with someone who disagrees with you,” Collins explained, “With your pledge we will be able to fund the first episode in the series. If we can raise more than we’ll have more episodes up to 12 for the first season.”

In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can gain access to a variety of rewards including a first-look at the pilot episode a week before release for $10, your own digital copy of Game Night and all fully funded episodes for $25, and more. Backers can also pledge $75 for access to a monthly Q&A Hangout with the show’s creator or $100 to become a background character on the show.
