Los Angeles, CA – On July 7, 2014, Writer, Shawn DePasquale and artist, Sherard Jackson launched a Kickstarter campaign for ‘Galaxy Girls’, a digital graphic novel that follows the all female crew of The Galaxy Girl, as they attempt to thwart the corrupt Intergalactic Union, recover their ship, and save the universe! ‘Galaxy Girls’ is a fantastic journey through a cosmos filled with Mythological creatures, sex-bots, Quantum-Hallucinogens, political espionage and long-held familial grudges.
Mallori Galaxy is the Captain of the Galaxy Girl. Her twin sister, Tanna, joins the Galactic Union’s elite police force, seeking order and job security and creating an impenetrable rift between the sisters. Vernita, a bird-like woman, joined the Galaxy Girl after being exiled for refusing to participate in her planet’s politics. Dahlia is a discontinued sex-bot who can change her appearance. The final member of Galaxy Girl’s crew is Dr. Dot, a 15-year old female Doogie Howser. In the digital pages of ‘Galaxy Girls’, Mallori and Tanna attempt to mend their broken relationship as they race to retrieve their stolen ship, prevent a nefarious government from using a weapon of mass destruction and save the universe from annihilation at the hands of an ancient creature known as The Nibiru.
‘Galaxy Girls’ will be on Kickstarter until the 22nd of August. If you are a graphic novel enthusiast, if you like science fiction or if you are a fan of women fighting for what is theirs, then this is something you don’t want to miss. Other than the digital core-book, the campaign also offers stickers and t-shirts, as well as bound, printed versions of the book, and even original sketches. Link: www.kickstarter.com
