The Front was birthed by Deward Lynn Lawrence as a collection of short stories and is now being adapted for the screen by Jon and Nathan Blaze as a web series. It follows Frank Aldridge, an allied war correspondent contracted by the newly formed United Nations to collect personal accounts from survivors of the war.
With The Front you will be getting a unique and historically accurate retelling of World War II. The story picks up in 1945, the war is over, and Frank is staying at an allied internment camp in order to interview the German soldiers being held there. Join him as he discovers their stories and uncovers their link a certain individual who helped shape the outcome of the war.
The team behind The Front is working hand in hand with the local Living History community, whose access to authentic uniforms, weapons, vehicles and locations has proved to be an invaluable resource. In return, we hope to produce a lasting contribution to the historical community and an engaging World War II experience for all viewers.
Lastly, The Front is being made in and around Texas. We’ve already filmed in the historic town of Waxahachie thanks to Larry Felty of Historic Waxahachie and Mark Singleton of CNB. We have plans to film in several other cities such as Gainesville and Palestine. This is truly a local production being made in concert with Texas historical organizations and enthusiasts. So if you are a part of the local historical community, interested in World War II, a lover of independent film projects being made by people passionate about it, or would just like to be a part of something creative, The Front is for you.
We’ve launched an Indiegogo Campaign to help raise the funds needed to complete production, you can contribute, share, and earn some cool perks! So check out The Front on Indiegogo to see how you can be a part!
