We hear a lot today about the death of print and the dominance of digital; however, through our Kickstarter campaign we are breathing new life into a classic and proving that quality print editions are still relevant in the digital age. Frankenstein: or The Modern Prometheus is a novel written by English author Mary Shelley that tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a grotesque but sapient creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment. This classic novel still has relevance to today’s society as we venture towards AI; specifically, regarding the lessons of the dangers of unchecked innovation.

Where Modern Design Meets Classic Works

Where many book publishers focus on minimizing page count and costs; our first priority in re-creating this book is readability and elegant design. Carefully typeset and meticulously designed our books are laid out using specially chosen fonts and margins to best reflect the edition. We aspire to creating a novel that is not only appealing to read but also one that can proudly adorn any bookshelf; printed on the best quality paper to ensure the longevity and durability; the features of the book include:

– Original illustrations from the 1837 edition
– Beautifully typeset with Los Feliz and Baskerville Old Face
– A Classic Crest cover and spine which keeps the book soft, archival, and made with recyclable paper. The cover is offset printed in silver on black
– A bookplate that includes a unique edition number for each book.

The novel measures 5.5″ wide by 8.5″ tall perfect to fit in your hand. Each edition comes with a letter pressed bookmark containing a quote from the novel; measuring 2″ x 6″, and is letter pressed in silver ink on black.

Join us on our journey to re-discovering classic literature and hopefully re-invigorating a passion for printed works.
