Hawken Components recently launched the FLEXROUTE | Universal Cable Guide on Kickstarter. The FLEXROUTE is an innovative and simple cable guide designed to secure a wide range of the most commonly used cables to virtually any shaped or sized frame. It is designed for use across a wide range of industries and is already receiving bulk pre-orders from motorsport fabrication companies and off-road race teams due to the FLEXROUTE’s adaptive qualities and high durability.

Before the FLEXROUTE, the only universal option to secure very important and expensive systems, whether it be brake cables on a touring bike or lighting, radio, and GPS cables on a trophy truck was to use a cheap cable tie. The cable tie, while great for fastening, can crush a cable housing and hamper system components, never uniformly secures a cable to a frame, and frankly just doesn’t look good.

The system doesn’t replace the conventional cable tie completely, it still utilizes its unsurpassed fastening capabilities while the FLEXROUTE provides uniform cable pressure, a consistent non-slip surface with the frame, and high quality material that can stand up to virtually anything the environment can throw at it. Hawken Components doesn’t just include a standard zip tie with the FLEXROUTE, but goes a step further by including the lowest profile nylon cable tie on the market, the Cobra Tie. Cobra zip ties offer superior tensile strength and robust quality that stand up well in a wide range of environments. Safer than a traditional tie, Cobra features a smooth, snag-proof contour with no barbs or spikes to injure an installer, technician or end user.

Hawken Components was founded in Reno, NV over the summer of 2013 by Jesse Rodrigue to develop the FLEXROUTE after receiving very positive feedback from friends and family in the motorsports, bike fabrication, and aviation industries. Kickstarter funding is necessary to construct the mold and get the first batch of FLEXROUTES completed. The FLEXROUTE will be produced and packaged locally in Reno, NV which makes the mold more expensive than conventional foreign options, but allows for better quality control and provides business for a region that is still suffering from the 2008 recession.
