Dear all! We are making an exciting short film “The Flagellant”. We are an international team of passionate filmmakers from all around the world – England, Ireland, Russia, France, Switzerland and Iceland and the thing that unites us is our passion for smart cinema.
“The Flagellant” – what is it all about?
“The Flagellant” is a 10-15 minute short psychological drama telling the story of Dehlia and her grown-up son Martin. After his father’s death Martin is the one to work days and nights to provide for the lifestyle his mom is used to. He has no friends, no girlfriends, his whole life is dedicated to his mother.
When he turns 30 something breaks inside him – he doesn’t want to live like this anymore. In a severe nervous breakdown he locks himself in his room and starts flogging himself – just like those medieval people did in the time of plague. During the flagellations he sees phantasmagorical visions of beautiful women – he wants to get closer to them, to touch them but always fails.
Dehlia, a lovely but passive woman has to face a hard challenge – for the first time in her life she has to take action and intervene before it is too late.
