Illustrated children’s book, Finding Moo Friends, takes the reader to a journey through a magical world with a little monster, Moo, who wants to find friends. The book is created by animation director and writer Marcos Corrêa, who has been working with the rhyming story of Moo for the last five years. Now, in September 2015, he launched an Indiegogo campaign to get Moo’s message to kids around the world: you still have 17 days to become Moo’s new friend!

“Believe in yourself! That’s the message I want to share in this book, and I hope it will inspire many to see that even though your fears and obstacle in life to achieve our dreams may seem overwhelming, if you trust yourself and believe, it will be worth to fight for.” — Marcos Corrêa

Finding Moo Friends is a story about a small lonely creature who lives in a beautiful and magical world, but feels confused and an outsider, and not quite sure why. After wandering for long lonely days searching for an answer, he sat down tired and looking at his own blurred reflection on a frozen lake, he understands: he is missing company, a friend. Afraid but determined, fighting his fears of being alone, Moo embarks on a fantastic quest to find what he believes is missing in his cute little life. And this is why we love him.

Sending your kids to kindergarten or school, or even starting a new hobby or moving to a new city might be a demanding experiences for both children and their parents: will my child fit in, will they find their place and make friends? Finding Moo Friends helps both kids and their parents to deal with insecurities related to finding your place in the world, or, just simply, making new friends. As a green little monster, Moo is easily identified with, and the story encourages children to be brave: how hard it may seem, in the end, it is all worth the try.

Before devoting his time to his own projects, Marcos Corrêa worked for animation studios such as Disney and MGM helping them to tell their stories. “Then I thought, maybe it’s time to tell mine. This campaign has a true meaning for me, and luckily, maybe for others too,” says Corrêa. That is why the perks in the campaign are something Corrêa himself would have liked to have himself when he was a child, or now as an artist: on top of the book, either has a hardcover copy or a PDF file, you can also pledge different kind of artwork from mOOd postcards to ink art, original sketches and posters.
