Toronto, May 28, 2014 – Luevo, the first fashion crowdfunding platform, launches their inaugural jewelry collection, ‘The World is Yours,’ by Brooklyn based Skyler Man Jewelry. The product-focused crowdfunding technology enables designers to pre-sell their collections, by showcasing their designs and collecting the reserves directly from consumers.
“After we launched at Los Angeles Fashion Week, we received many inquiries from interested jewelry designers. We realized that unlike clothing companies, jewelry designers don’t get the attention they deserve on the runway, so we knew there is a great opportunity in working with them,” says Luevo’s co-founder and CEO Ana Caracaleanu. “We are very excited to launch an amazing jewelry designer that has prepared a specially curated collection only for Luevo customers, and open the doors to a new industry.”
Jewelry enthusiasts will now be able to reserve exclusive designs on the Luevo platform, helping to fund the designer’s production. Designs are only produced if designers meet their reserve targets, which are displayed on each product’s profile to motivate funding. By promoting demand-determined production, the Luevo platform reduces textile and material waste often incurred by mass production. The platform also gives designers insight into the true demand for their products, allowing them to tailor future collections based on which products are the most coveted.
For Luevo’s first jewelry collection ‘The World is Yours,’ Skyler Man creates a timeless, on-trend line for Spring and Summer. The company is committed to sustainability and localized production in keeping with Luevo’s values. Skyler Man handcrafts all of their pieces in NYC, using recycled gold and silver, ethically sourcing their diamonds and using recycled packaging materials.
Luevo is the pioneer of fashion crowdfunding and continues to shape the way consumers and designers interact for a more sustainable future. The company is committed to supporting local emerging designers from Canada and the United States and helping them fund future collections.
