Islip, NY, Feb. 8, 2014 — Battleshop Inc announces the unveiling of BattleShop with a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.
Do you fail to see the appeal of fantasy sports? Are you looking for a (more fashionable) playing field on which to crush your competition? It’s time to BattleShop. BattleShop calls all fashionistas and shopaholics to the plate to flex their fashion muscles and compete against other BattleShoppers to win great prizes and bragging rights.
The game is a hybrid between an online scavenger hunt and virtual online “fantasy shopping.” BattleShop engages shoppers in passionate competition to outdo each other via the fashion they love and are about to love. It connects style-conscious brands with consumers who shop for love and bloodsport. It is, in short, a fantasy league for the rest of us.
BattleShop takes the competition-based nature of fantasy sports and makes online shopping fun, social, and competitive with a game that gives power shopping a whole new meaning. BattleShop’s founders aren’t promising that it will exactly replicate fantasy sports, but they are pretty sure there are enough elements in common that replicate the essence of fantasy sports. BattleShop is a place where women can let their inner fashion fierceness free on the only field that matters.
For a number of women, shopping is a social activity. It’s a competition. It’s a sport. From the time you’re in the fourth grade, you seek other’s approval, you copy your friends’ style. If they have it, you want it and you’ll stop at nothing to get it.
BattleShop takes the compulsion to have only-the-best-will-do fashion and layers it with today’s social networking and e-commerce technology. BattleShop plays on already existing trends — fantasy shopping, online shopping, and online personal collection and curation — and offers an entirely new type of game online. BattleShop will appeal to women who are fantasy sports-lovers and -haters alike — it channels the spirit of competition and the thrill of victory! BattleShop banks of the art – and sport – of shopping.
The site will be in private beta starting February 17th and will launch in Spring 2014.
