Review by 1st client “Sucker Free Games”
“This was fantastic! $5 and we got an amazing live action trailer for our video game! He did a fantastic job and even dressed up as one of our main characters! Cute effects, beautiful green screen and great acting. 5 stars all around, we will definitely be coming back in the future!” Ad Link
Known for his Fan Films based on Classic Arcade Titles, EGC got contacted by Indie Companies wanting a Review or Let’s Play, only to get back a Real Life Short Film
“I started out back in my school days just for fun. Dressing up as Game Characters with my friends to create Cosplay Movies like fans do on Conventions. But my take was a little different… It turns out this kind of movies can get pretty popular with Gamers, and some Developers saw it as a nice Marketing Tool. I’ve made some videos for Game Companies with no budget at all, just for the experience, free games, Portfolio… I hope that one day I’ll be producing Official Big Budget Full Lenght Films of my Favorite Childhood Games. It may sound crazy, but everything does at the very beginning (laugh) This is a good way to start. I know small studios spend everything on making their game, during the process they struggle to get known and sometimes they can’t spend much on Marketing. I’m guessing that for the cost of a lunch they’ll give me a shot” – Martin Escageda
In the 90’s this type of videogame advertising was common on TV (and fun to look at) but they weren’t so cheap to make. Nowadays the Internet overflows with Let’s Plays, Game Intros, Gameplay Trailers, screenshots and plain text. Some times it’s enough for getting the game known, other times it gets obscured by the huge amount of info about titles being released every moment.
If you want to stand out with something Funny, Cool, Creative (kinda geeky) and Unique, try this approach (with some luck, it may go viral…)
