There have been many games in the fantasy realm, but Dungeon Dwellers is definitely a unique take in this genre.
Many games claim to be cooperative, but how many really are? With the advent of computer RPGs, most players are just tagging along as they go about their own tasks. Even tabletop games with a fantasy theme are more about doing solo tasks, without much worry about the other players.
Dungeon Dwellers is a game that brings cooperation to board games. This card game adds all the elements of a good dungeon adventure, with strategy, a little luck, and most importantly, cooperation.
The players are tasked with traveling through several levels of a dungeon, combating its various monsters, while avoiding traps; to finally meet and destroy the Boss. If successful, they can collect their treasure and count up their gold. However, if the entire party fails to all make it out alive, the game is over.
Dungeon Dwellers is currently running a project on Kickstarter, and ideal for people interested in a fantasy game where they can really work together, and feel good about it at the end – unless they are defeated. In which case, it’s back to the beginning, to try it all over again!
Kickstarter is the perfect venue for independent game makers that are looking to get into the game market. S2 Adventures, the company that has created Dungeon Dwellers, feel like they can reach backers who believe in smaller companies, and would like them to succeed.
