Portland, OR – Locally owned Dollhouse Productions Inc. and Finn Graves announced today that it will be launching a Kickstarter for Rich Off My Doodles effective February 2, 2014. The Rich Off My Doodles Kickstarter is for raising $2,000 to do a 150 count print run of the black and white graphic novel.
Finn Graves expects this launch to improve backer confidence and widen her customer base. In addition to available paintings, drawings and commissions, Finn Graves is now offering graphic novels for her customers.
This Kickstarter success will permit Finn Graves to construct Rich Off My Doodles into 150, 8 x 10, black and white paged, paperback forms. There will be three graphic novels: Rich Off My Doodles, The Dredges (already 50+ pages completed) and the 3rd: Humen. About Rich Off My Doodles
Rich Off My Doodles is a paperback, black and white, optimistically-dark graphic novel. It follows the adventures and setbacks of two previously traveling (and now stuck in Portland-winter) women. One is mostly happy, and the other … well, you get the picture. It’s 2012 (or 2102 if you prefer to read it backwards) and the two are all dressed up and prepared to take Portland by storm. Big dreams, big plans, big return (no gamblers were harmed in the making of this graphic novel); big! Big! BIG! But alas. Life gets in the way. It bungles things up a bit, turns them about and reroutes their whole process. They muddle through, laughing, crying, making snarky remarks and surviving it all. The summer sets with more dreams realized than they know, but less than they’d planned.
This is a graphic novel about being in love at all costs. In love with each other in spite of and because of, being flawed human beings. In love with life — even though it sometimes feels like everything is out to kill them. About being in love with art and healing within the paradoxes of daily living. This is a story about being in love with yourself, exactly the way you are, even though nothing but that small voice says: “you are a precious, brilliant, glinting treasure.”
