My team and I are making a feature length documentary about a famous Serbian female painter. I plan to promote high culture and the right way to understand culture through her life and work.
It is a person who has worked in Vienna, Austria and has incredible talent.
She has painted a collection of paintings on the theme of ballet and her ballet dancers are considered to be more artistically valuable than those of Degas because Degas painted the dancers relaxing and who are still, and she painted them in motion. She captured movement on her paintings and she exhibited them in the Opera of Vienna, which is one of the most eminent cultural places in Europe.
Dzoja has also worked as a caricaturist, illustrator and drew animation for television.People who will also be mentioned throughout the film are famous Serbian writers, such as Ivo Andric, the Nobel prize winner, and other famous authors who wrote about the human soul. We will also talk to famous Serbian intellectuals and academics such as, Jovan Cirilov, theatrologist, Dusan Kovacevic, dramaturgist, Matija Beckovic, a famous Serbian writer and some others relevant people as well. We will shoot on locations in Trebinje, Belgrade and Vienna.
The goal of this project is to promote the spiritual beauty of an artist, her inspiration, the process of the realization of her work, literature and film art that inspired her and people and places that were important for her growth as an artist.
We will also show how different kinds of art, such as film, literature, ballet and painting influence each other.
Her husband Dusan Gavela was also a famous painter, surrealist and his work will also be mentioned in the film. The two of them had a very interesting spiritual relationship and that will be one of the themes of the film as well.
Our goal is to spread high culture that a woman created throughout the world and prove that art knows no boundaries. There have not been many women great artists. We are here to change that. This documentary is about a woman who is a great artist with a great soul. We will show the strength and power that only the greatest artists have.
We need up to 5 thousand euros to pay for the expenses of renting the camera. The shooting will take place for 14 days. It costs 1500 euros to rent a camera for one week. We also need money to pay for the studio where we will record the voice of the narrator. There are also the costs of transportation and the costs of food for the crew. We will have to pay editing as well. If we don’t reach the entire goal, the funds will go to renting the technical equipment, which is essential. Our main goal is to be able to rent the camera.
Please spread the word about our campaign. You will help produce a real piece of art.
