A line of eco sustainable diamond jewelry of Italian concept and design is now on Kickstarter and for the first time ever the precious stones seem to be suspended in thin air.
A line of jewelry that redefines diamonds altogether, Bacio Bacio, is now on Kickstarter, the most popular international crowdfunding platform. The campaign will continue for a month, from the 29th of April to the 28th of May. 30 days to raise 30k for the prototyping, production and shipment of the first ever Bacio Bacio rings, earrings and necklaces. Briarwood and diamonds, warmth and ice. Tradition and innovation. These are the defining concepts of a line of jewelry that is unique in a number of ways. Traditionally, diamonds have always been embedded in precious metal for safekeeping. Not this one. Here the gem is free, suspended in a perfectly transparent polymer, and encircled by a frame of Briarroot wood. This revolutionary idea is the origin of the whole Bacio Bacio collection.
Rings, earrings and pendants are all offered as rewards to the project’s backers. Among these, one reward is to be found exclusively on Kickstarter: a limited offer of 99 luxury edition Bacio Bacio rings containing diamonds that are almost doubled in size.
Plus, these are jewels you’ll feel good about: the diamonds are certified blood free, and cut to a round brilliant, the shape that best enhances the gem’s ligh and fire. The briarroot is Italian and collected sustainably. The wood is then polished and treated with organic resins only, to intensify its natural striations and shades, making every piece truly unique.
“I have always been in love with diamonds”, explains Caterina K., the designer behind the project “and I found the perfect partners for the project in the artisans of Vicenza’s hinterland, a city brimming with art, where the clutches of modernity and industrialization haven’t yet tightened around these small, traditional realities.”
Every piece of the collection is handcrafted by third-generation woodworkers, according to a tradition that spans decades, but the concept is brand new. Diamonds are liberated from their classical shape, role and look, and launched into the worlds of fashion and trend.
