This is not your typical music – let me take you on a journey.

This is the start of something amazing. My project has been in development now for over a year, and it has been a struggle of epic proportions. It all began when I suffered a hard hitting breakup and I thought to myself – we all go here. At some point in everyone’s lives we struggle with heartbreak.

Sure, breakup songs have been written to death by now and I sure as hell didn’t want to add to the catalogue. I wanted to make a breakup album.

But here’s the thing – I hate conventional breakup songs and writing an entire album based on that gloomy self pity was not my deal. I wanted to take it further, put a unique spin on it, so Degradation of Romance was born.

The style is fresh – this is an experiment that has fused rap, soul, R&B and even some traces of dub step and DnB all into one neat little package which details one mans experience with love loss and coping mechanisms in a way never approached before.

So far this project has been entirely self funded but these endeavours take a LOT of funding. The songs are all completely written and ready to be recorded but

– production

– mixing

– mastering

– cover art design

are all expenses that need covering and there are still a few songs remaining that need these services.

You can help bring this refreshing project to life – music is stale these days and I hope to bring my own flavour to the scene!

They are an awesome bunch who have been working hard with me to spring life into my songs. Special thanks goes to Tom Rosato who has been slaving away on production making amazing music!

the author

JR began his interest in music from a very early age, developing a wide ranged taste varying from Michael Jackson to Wu Tang. Growing up as the only child in the household JR developed an ability to self entertain, and music was one of his passions. He first began by performing Karaoke in bars and self teaching guitar, then progressed to songwriting and producing tracks in his home studio. JR felt that there was more to his potential than cover songs and felt that this did not suit his style, It was at the age of 25 that JR actually took to writing an album, titled Degradation of Romance, which was written as a conceptual album detailing one man's journey from love loss and the various emotions and events that follow. It was at that point that he was discovered by a producer who decided his work was worthy of attention. Don't say it Girl is the first result of this partnership, and JR has only just begun realizing his artistic vision. JR writes songs with a determination and inspiration with an aim to narrate a message, he uses a unique musical direction that incorporates many elements of the styles he has held in the highest regard.
