Fools Gold Theatre is an online audio production group. For the past couple years, we’ve been creating a fan project free for listeners to download. Now we’d like to attempt an original Audible drama. But to do this, we need to have money to pay the VAs. So we’re holding a Kickstarter to obtain the funds to do just that.
The biggest obstacle this project faces will be finding the right voice actors. As this is an original work instead of our usual fan projects, we want to be able to properly compensate those who take the time to help us. The entirety of this Kickstarter will go towards paying those individuals. Anything extra will be put towards paying voice actors in upcoming episodes.
All $5+ backers will have access to a free copy of the episode via WeTransfer. There are also lots of other perks depending on the donation level – including the chance to pitch a story idea or create a character to be used on the show, exclusive character art, and items with the show’s logo.

Story Summary:
“Dear Boss” is a multi-episode romantic suspense set in the fictional town of West Haven, Michigan, on the shores of the lake. It’s a small place and usually very quiet – but lately, someone has begun to murder local teenagers. And they seem to be imitating the infamous Jack the Ripper killings. They’re even sending out taunting letters addressed to ‘Dear Boss.’
Tanner Broden is the relatively new police chief receiving these letters. He has his hands full trying to keep the peace in a town that’s becoming increasingly anxious as the killer continues to remain unidentified. But at least he has help – a new transfer and old friend, Nemika Worthington, who’s come to town specifically to help investigate the case.
But things are more complicated between the two officers than they appear. Unexpected circumstances force both of them to face their demons, and they’re going to need each other’s help to make it out in one piece.
