Dead ED is a short narrative film about temperance and friendship. On a normal routine, Khan and his companion droid, ED, set out to purge the future desert of North America from nuclear waste. Khan and ED are suddenly assigned on their most dangerous task yet: To purge the RED Zone, a country full of bandits and unworldly dangers. After getting stranded, the two are pushed to their limits, and are forced to make choices that pit themselves against one another.
I really wanted to make a story that anyone could appreciate and have fun watching as well. So, I looked to one of my favorite childhood stories, The King’s Hawk, and reconstructed it into a science fiction with a beautiful but desolate world, and a darker, more serious atmosphere. The film features many themes such as: care-taking the planet, loneliness, justice, and appreciation. Not only will the story deliver in Dead ED, but also the quality of the movie.
From shot composition, lighting, sound, and art, Dead ED will feature a professional level of the cinema art. Professional actors will be casted, music will be composed, and high quality lighting and camera will be showcased. All of this will be featured in the behind the scenes of Dead ED, which will be a full-length documentary film, Journey to Wasteland: The Making of Dead ED.
We are aiming high and raising the bars with Dead ED as young filmmakers. Dead ED is more than just a short film; it is an experience for all of us.
