David Gaither is a contemporary international artist who is currently working on coordinating production of limited edition sculptures in Hong Kong. He recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund his 30-day art residency and art/product collaboration in Hong Kong, China in August 2015: www.kickstarter.com
David has already received commitment from a high-end toy sculpture manufacturer in Hong Kong to produce limited edition toy sculptures incorporating his Maximalism movement. He describes this movement as one of a highly technical nature, in which he expands the depth and detail of various colors, shapes and patterns. Many critics have noted how his painting style continues to evolve as he explores further concepts in his Maximalism movement.
David Gaither began his art progression at a very early age. After years of honing his craft he held some of his first public exhibitions in 2013. In a relatively short period of time, he has managed to garner the attention of the global art community. His works have been exhibited worldwide in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Lausanne (Switzerland), Paris (France), and Dubai (The United Arab Emirates). More of his works can be seen here: www.david-gaither.com.
As David developed a large body of works in the Maximalism genre, he began to exhibit them all across the United States, as well as international cities such as Lausanne (Switzerland), Paris (France), Biarritz (France), and Dubai (the United Arab Emirates). David is now exploring a mixture of more figurative elements in his Maximalism movement. Works incorporating warriors such as a samurai, Hercules, and aboriginal hunter can be seen in some of his recent works. In addition, Gaither has employed notable living people in his work, which can be seen in a painting entitled “The Maximalised Musicians”. This painting contains actual musicians such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Kaidi Tatham who are immersed alongside warm, bright colors and complex patterns and shapes. Art critics have stated that his works convey a strong sense of dynamic movement, in which the respective colors, patterns, and shapes appear to be in constant motion within the works.
David is currently planning for future exhibitions in Paris, France, as well as Lausanne, Switzerland.
