Newport Beach, CA — September 13, 2017 – Cubroid, an interactive wireless modular robotics set that allows children to experience the basics of coding, has launched on Kickstarter. Through Lego-compatible blocks and simple coding programs, Cubroid aims to expose young minds to programming and technology.
More information about the innovation behind Cubroid is available at www.cubroid.com.
“In the technologically advanced world that we live in today, coding education has become increasingly important,” says Founder and CEO, Mark Shin, who has leveraged a background in educational technology. “We have looked to classic toy items to bring a productive and valuable idea to life.”
Unlike other educational coding products, Cubroid is impressively easy-to-use and fun. There are seven distinct types of building blocks that exhibit unique features. Each box houses a wireless module and battery, and the connecting features of the blocks function through wireless communication. The blocks encourage creativity, as they can be assembled into various Lego-like structures and robots.
Cubroid is paired with a control coding smartphone application that enhances the educational aspect of the product. Children can use the mobile application to engage with and prompt movement in their unique block structures. Additionally, a more advanced online database program, Scratch, is available to be explored by those who want to take their coding skills to the next level. The paired programs and applications can be connected via Bluetooth or through a USB cable and do not involve complicated installation procedures.
Jason Kwak, the CTO at Cubroid, adds, “Our kit is multidimensional, and we truly believe that children will genuinely enjoy learning through Cubroid. We have thoughtfully designed the blocks and the programs with the optimal user experience in mind.”
Pre-order of Cubroid is available from September 12 to October 26 on Kickstarter, and it is a consumer-ready product. Those who have tested the device report positive experiences, and several of these testimonials can be seen on the product’s Kickstarter. When the Kickstarter campaign funding goal is achieved, the company anticipates manufacturing and delivery to be complete in February of 2018.
During the Kickstarter Campaign, the product can be pre-ordered starting at $149 for the Early Bird Basic Kit with retail pricing expected to be $270 for the Basic Kit.
