One of the big issues with the Raspberry Pi are the wires, USB keyboard, mouse, HDMI, Ethernet and power, strewn across the kitchen table and getting in the way of our work. What we need is a Pi in a laptop, and Elecrow have done just that with CrowPi2, an educational platform based upon the Raspberry Pi 4.
The Raspberry Pi is a small and affordable computer. The entry-level device is perfect for DIY projects, smart home automation, and even as a home theater media server. The unit is often found in computers and learning devices aimed at the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) market.
The CrowPi 2 is a specially designed Raspberry Pi-based laptop aimed at the educational market. That doesn’t mean that it’s only suitable for schools, though. The learning-focused gadget is perfect for curious young minds as they take their first steps into the digital world. The portable device is equipped with an 11.6-inch HD display with an integrated 2MP camera.
The Raspberry Pi is hidden underneath the removable wireless keyboard but is easily accessible thanks to the dedicated internal installation groove. The CrowPi 2 has an internal development board designed for exploration. All components including various motors, the power supply, diodes, sensors, and other electronics are readily available to you.
300K dollars have been funded since it was released a month ago, last Friday, Elecrow just released stretch goal to hit 400K dollars, once Elecrow hits 400000 dollars, all backers will be gifted an earphone with microphone and Crowtail sensor pack, which includes a LED, a color sensor, and a protoboard, you can use all of them with CrowPi2.
The CrowPi2 is now still available on the Kickstarter without a Raspberry Pi, allowing you to add your own, or can come with either a Raspberry Pi 4 preinstalled.
