What is Cross Symphonic?

Cross Symphonic is the reimagining of Yasunori Mitsuda’s iconic soundtrack from Chrono Cross as a fully licensed, 17 track symphonic film score. The album carries the listener through the events of Chrono Cross,retelling Masato Kato’s expansive story of adventure, deception, jealousy, and determination with music crafted to help you experience Chrono Cross in a whole new way.
Inspired in part by the legendary film composer John Williams, Cross Symphonic’s sweeping melodic approach serves as a tribute to both Williams and Mitsuda who have been major inspirations for composer John Paul Hayward. A Kickstarter campaign for Cross Symphonic is set to launch on February 26, 2019 to raise funds for a live recording in Nashville Tennessee featuring an industry leading orchestra and choir.
Production and licensing for Cross Symphonic has been officially approved by Septima Ley and Yasunori Mitsuda. Cross Symphonic is a fan made tribute produced at the professional level, and has no direct affiliation with Square Enix, Septima Ley, or Yasunori Mitsuda.
Cross Symphonic will be produced and distributed by Hayward Publishing, and is scheduled for worldwide release on November 18th 2019 to celebrate the 20th anniversary release of Chrono Cross in Japan.
